This blog compiles some notes and observations from one average guy's journey of life, faith and thought, along with some harvests from my reading (both on-line and in print). Learning to follow Jesus is a journey; come join me on the never-ending adventure!

Great Chart on Bible Interpretation
C. Michael Patton at Reclaiming the Mind Ministries has some great posts up on "The Exegetical Process" - Links here and here.
His diagram/chart is particularly helpful; clarifying the necessity of understanding the intent of the original speaker and/or writer before trying to apply a Bible passage to today. The basic hermeneutical principle is "A Scripture passage can not mean what it never meant.
I recommend reading the entire posts. Their Parchment & Pen blog is usually a great resource.
