Pastor Tullian Tchividjian (Billy Graham's grandson) has been blogging on the topic of ways a person might be deceived into thinking they know God when in fact they don’t. Tullian was another of the Graham family's problem children who came back to the Lord after a period of unbelief and rebellion.
He presents six questions a person might ask about assurance of salvation.
1. I prayed the sinner's prayer - Isn't that enough?
2. I remember that time I made a decision for Christ - Isn't that enough?
3. I'm religious- Isn't that enough?
4. I'm spiritual - Isn't that enough?
5. I'm a good person - Isn't that enough?
6. I have Faith - Isn't that enough?
This material is covered in greater detail in Tullian's new book, Do I Know God? Trevin Wax reviews the book here.
