Don't Just Read the Menu - Eat the Meal! (Part 2)

The mission of the Father, the mission upon which He sent Jesus, is to seek and save the lost, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the recovery of sight to the blind.

The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the
place where it was written:

The Spirit of the Lord is on me
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for
the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s
favor

Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes
of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, and he began by saying to them, ‘Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:17-21 (NIV)

The Meat is in the Street! This is our food - to do the works of Jesus, to do Kingdom Stuff in obedience to the Father. To take the power and blessing of the Kingdom to those on the “outside” and tell them of God’s favor, and show them that favor by signs and wonders, and by mercy and service. We are called to bring the outsiders inside the sphere of God’s love and grace.

We are called to be Jesus People, doing the Jesus stuff. We are called to be communities of Jesus Followers, who embrace Jesus' lifestyle, speak Jesus' message, and do Jesus' works, in Jesus, way, with Jesus' power, and for Jesus' purpose.
