Dallas Willard, a prominent philosopher on a "quiet quest to subvert nominal Christianity" (according to a 2006 CT profile), died today after losing a battle with cancer. He was 77.
HarperOne broke the news:

Dallas' teaching ministry meant a lot to me. He will be sorely missed, but I rejoice that he has continued his everlasting life in the presence of Christ, now, and forever. Blessings and joy for a man who longed for another dwelling, made of the hands of God.
