German archaeologists have discovered the birthplace of the Protestant Reformation — a stone toilet on which the constipated Martin Luther wrote the Ninety-Five Theses that launched the creation of Europe's Protestant churches.Glad to know we have now uncovered the birthplace of the - ahem - reformation "movement."Scholars had always known that the 16th-century religious leader suffered from acute constipation and spent hours in contemplation on the toilet seat.

Celebrate the Great Exchange

A man distressed about sin wrote to Luther. The Reformer, who himself had suffered long agonies over his problem, replied: "Learn to know Christ and him crucified. Learn to sing to him and say - Lord Jesus, you are my righteousness, I am your sin. You took on you what was mine; you set on me what was yours. You became what you were not that I might become what I was not."

God's Father Heart

“If you have a true faith that Christ is your Saviour, then at once you have a gracious God, for faith leads you in and opens up God’s heart and will, that you should see pure grace and overflowing love. This it is to behold God in faith that you should look upon his fatherly, friendly heart, in which there is no anger nor ungraciousness. He who sees God as angry does not see him rightly but looks only on a curtain, as if a dark cloud had been drawn across his face.”
(Martin Luther quoted by Roland Bainton in Here I Stand, pp. 49-50).
